Our Story
Our Story
Brown's Excavating was founded by Dustin Brown, a Leicester native who learned the trade from his Dad-Terry Brown. Dustin began his company and built it from the ground up. What started as a one-man operation has grown into a trusted family business serving Buncombe County and the surrounding region.
Today, Dustin is training up the next generation with his oldest son, Colten joining the operation! Bringing the same commitment to quality and straight talk that built the business from the start. We're not a big corporation — we're your neighbors, and we treat every job like it's our own property.

Dustin Brown
Owner & Operator
Dustin has been running equipment in the mountains of Western NC for over 25 years. He grew up in Leicester, in the small rural farming community of Big Sandy Mush. That is where he and his whole family still lives today. Dustin is no stranger to Small Business-along side his wife they have three other successful businesses. They are dedicated small business owners who know the value of hard work, honesty, community, and the value of your hard earned dollar. Dustin founded Brown's Excavating as a 19 year old young man- it is founded on the belief that good work and honest people speak for themselves, and it is proven to be true over 20 years later!
